Everyone knows the old adage, "When life gives you lemons...make lemonade!" But, did you also know that that's not all you can do with the lemons life hands you? Next time your kitchen sink begins to smell of rotten food, make some lemonade, then try this quick five-step process to leave your sink fresh and clean!
Step One: Using tongs (never your fingers!), fish out any non-disposable items that might be in your sink disposal. Make sure the power is off, as well.
Step Two: Fill the disposal with 2 cups of water and 1 cup of rock salt.
Step Three: Turn the disposal on and run the water for five seconds.
Step Four: Plug the sink and fill it to about 2 or 3 inches deep with the disposal still on. This will help clear out the drain line.
Step Five: Run lemon peels (maybe the ones from the lemonade you just made) through the disposal with cold water to leave your sink FRESH and odor-free!
